2022 – Congratulations to Ziyan on the acceptance of her first-author paper by ACS ES&T Engineering. This is collaborative research with Mohan Qin. We discover that commercial filter membranes release organic particles that originate from the blue separator paper between membrane sheets.

2020 – Our technology for real-time detection of emerging contaminants in drinking water was recognized as a Finalist in the Water Council’s Fall 2020 Tech Challenge. Haoran had pleasant discussions with our industrial colleagues from Badger Meter and A. O. Smith on the opportunities for technology commercialization and future collaborations.

2020 – Another piece of my postdoc work has been accepted for publication by Small. We put a “screen” on a variety of nanoparticles to reduce their surface fouling by natural organic matter.
2020 – My postdoc work done in Professor Jaehong Kim’s lab at Yale University has been accepted for publication by PNAS. We have designed a novel gold nanorod structure that efficiently destroys recalcitrant organic micropollutants under sunlight illumination.
